GLP-1 therapy is a massive mental load. You aren't just taking a shot, you're managing dosage, rotating injection sites and trying to decipher why your body feels different in some days.
Trying to hold all of that in your head is how things slip. You forget which side you used for jab last week. You show up to your doctor's appointment with nothing but vague impressions instead of actual notes. None of that helps you navigate your GLP-1 weight loss. That’s why having a companion can make such a difference. An app that keeps everything in one place.
Open the App Store or Google Play and you'll find about 200+ GLP-1 tracker apps. Most are noise - clunky, overpriced or built by a tech teams that's never lived the experience. I've tested a dozen of them and I want to give you an honest look into why Glapp GLP-1 tracker has become my primary recommendation for anyone looking for the decent app for weight loss on GLP-1 meds.
Why Glapp Is My Choice
When I’m looking for a support app, I have three rules: it needs to work flawlessly, it needs to reflect my personal journey rather than give me generic options, and it has to make the complicated stuff look simple.
Achieving that kind of simplicity is incredibly hard, taking the complex mess of titration, hormone levels, and supply tracking and turning it into something you can manage in two taps is a rare feat. I think the GLAPP team has done a really good job with that.
✓ It's a free GLP-1 tracker. The core features - the ones that actually matter for day-to-day use - cost nothing. The team behind this tracker are GLP-1 patients themselves, and they advocate for the idea that vital data should be in everyone's hands for free. There's a premium tier, but the base version already matches what other apps charge for.
✓ It works everywhere. iPhone, Android, web and it's all cross-synced. You can log your jab on your phone and analyze your trends on your desktop later. Plus it supports all meds: Mounjaro, Ozempic, Zepbound, Wegovy, tirzepatide, semaglutide and retatrutide.
✓ Highly rated by users. 4.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot, 4.8 in the App Store. Maintaining near perfect ratings that high is a testament to its quality. If you search Reddit support groups, you'll find Glapp is the most mentioned and praised tracker available.
✓ Keeps getting better. It keeps improving every montn. New features keep rolling out, with a clear focus on making GLP-1 tracking more useful and heading in the right direction. Most impressively, the level of support is unmatched as the devs reply to every my request.
Review of Glapp app core features
Day-to-day routine tracking
It handles everything about your therapy. Your shots, doses, timing, injection sites plus you get reminders. When I do the jab, I simply open the app and have in front of me where to inject next (which you can set up to your preferred injection sites and choose a rotation plan). Glapp has very detailed setups in case you do split dosing or microdosing - you can manually adjust. You can customize your main screen to show only the data that matter for your personal treatment.

Understand how the medication works
When you log an injection, Shot Phases feature maps the expected GLP-1 activity over time, so you can see when the medication is expected to reach peak concentration and compare that timing with changes in your appetite suppression.
Glapp built Shot Phases on top of official clinical pharmacology data and peer-reviewed studies. They translated those pharmacokinetic patterns into clear, usable phases.
In addition, the Medication Levels chart shows you an approximation of how much of your GLP-1 medication is in your system at any given point in time. This is a great feature to understand at what levels you're hitting best medication effect.

Control your weight loss
It's very well built to monitor your progress and see how it changes at every dosage level. The screenshots with this GLP-1 weight loss progress chart you can often see in the Facebook support groups.
But my favorite feature was “Compare your progress” where you can see how your weight loss results match up against clinical trials data and peers who started in the same weight category. When I was a newbie, I was questioning if my weight loss was going well. I followed the doc's advice to stay on the minimal dose as long as possible and was losing at 5mg on Mounjaro, but at a humble pace. I wish I had such a comparison chart at that time that would stabilize me that all is going well.

Track what you're actually feeling
You need to track it for yourself and for upcoming discussions with your doctor. Glapp has probably the best product to go into deep details. Alongside common side effects like nausea and constipation, you can add custom ones. I once had excessive sweating, for example, and couldn't find a way to track it in other apps. In Glapp, I could simply add it as custom side effect.
You can also track hunger, cravings and food noise separately. Tracking these alongside your dose can help you understand how effective your current dose is and give you useful data to discuss with your doctor when considering titration.
You can track bowel movements, energy and sleep quality too. And you can hide sections you don't care about, so you're only tracking what matters.
What I really like is the flexibility. Early on, side effects might be your priority. Later, once you're on a stable dose, you might care more about energy levels, sleep or emotional wellbeing. You can change what you track as your needs change. It's detailed, flexible, and genuinely useful.

Keep your stockpile under control
Track vials, Kwikpens, doses, concentrations and expiration dates. This is useful for users on compound tirzepatide or semaglutide. You can now log all your supply details like number of vials, concentration, BUD dates and monitor how many shots you have in your stockpile.
When you log your shot, it automatically deducts the volume from whichever vial you select. The app handles the math and keeps your inventory current.
You can add your stock manually or scan your pharmacy label with a phone camera and app autofills the details. It speeds things up and reduces errors. Tracker also includes built-in calculators for tirzepatide/semaglutide, which can be particularly helpful when you're working with different concentrations.

Go further with Glapp Max
The free tier covers the essentials, but if you want the app to do the heavy lifting, the Max plan is $40 a year and about $3.30 a month. It's for anyone who wants insights without having to be a math whiz.
You get weekly Progress Reports that automatically analyze your logged data, giving you a clear summary of your journey. The more consistently you track, the more useful they become. Over time, reports can help you spot patterns and better understand what may be influencing your progress.
Another feature on premium is Milestones, which connect your weight loss achievements to actual clinical research, showing you how your wellbeing is improving over time. Finally, the Predictions uses your specific weight loss pace and dose history to forecast when you reach your goals.

Glapp vs Shotsy
Another app I've used and recommend to my readers is Shotsy. It's a genuinely good app and I can see many people like it. The main reason I'd recommend Glapp over it is the amount of functionality available in the free tier: estimated medication levels, supply tracking for vials/pens and your injection history and progress. If you're already using Shotsy, you can easily import your data into Glapp and see which one works better for you.
Where Shotsy has an advantage is maintenance mode. If you've reached your goal and are focused primarily on maintaining your weight, I'd definitely consider Shotsy. It also supports tracking other peptides, which may be important for some users.
Conclusion: data tells the real story
I want to close with something that isn't really about the app at all, because I think it's the actual reason any of this matters. A recent study followed adults at different stages of GLP-1 treatment. After controlling for age, time on medication, and how much weight they'd lost, one psychological factor still stood out between groups: perceived competence - basically, how capable people felt of handling their own weight-related behaviors, day to day.
The study can't tell us confidence causes better outcomes - correlation isn't causation, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But it does leave you with a practical question: what actually helps you feel more in control of this process?
The answer is simple — it's tracking. Everything I just walked you through - the daily checkins, watching med levels, all of it - isn't really about the app itself. It's about closing the gap between not knowing and knowing. So if you're not tracking your therapy right now, that's probably the first thing to fix.
